Roosevelt Corollary

This cartoon is about the Roosevelt Corollary. The Roosevelt Corollary is acting as policeman to defend our grounds using the Monroe Doctrine. In this case Roosevelt is defending Latin America. The message of this cartoon is to fight off other countries; this is our land. The cartoonist uses the Roosevelt Corollary in a good way because there is not really any negativity in the cartoon. Other people might say that this was not right and that we should not be allowed to fend off other countries; who have the same rights to territories as we do. One technique of this cartoon is exaggeration. Roosevelt is pretty much as tall as the boat. This is just symbolizing how much power he had. And of course there is labeling. The cartoonist labeled what is what so the reader knows what everything is. This does not support my opinion because the cartoonist thinks that the Roosevelt Corollary was a good thing. The Roosevelt Corollary was a very strong thing.
